Meet our Administrators:
Darren Penquite, Executive Director
Darren Penquite came to Farmington Square in January of 2016 from a memory care in Santa Barbara, California where he was the Executive Director. With over 5-years of specialized programming and management experience in Alzheimer’s and Dementia care, Darren has also been an Activities’ Director, Community Relations Director and Administrator / Executive Director. Darren is currently a licensed administrator in both Oregon and California.
Although Darren is a Santa Barbara native, he is no stranger to Southern Oregon. He attended Southern Oregon University and began a career in radio and TV broadcasting in Medford in the late 90’s and early 2000’s. In addition to a 12-year broadcasting career, he also traveled the world onboard cruise ships as a Cruise Director before settling down and starting a family.
Darren and his wife Emily have 3 young children (Toby, Josey and Everly). They are actively involved in church and all the great family oriented events and activities that Southern Oregon has to offer.
Samantha Hamilton, Assistant Executive Director
Samantha joined Farmington Square in 2014 after returning to work from caring for her father in law, who had dementia and lived in her home, for seven years. Upon his passing, Samantha knew her calling was in senior care. Prior to this, Samantha was a lab and x-ray tech at a local medical office. Samantha began her career with Farmington as the Activity Director and stepped into the Assistant Executive Director role in May of 2016. She received her Administrator License in January of 2017.
Samantha has lived in Medford for 15 years and after obtaining her Oregon license in lab and x-ray technology attended Southern Oregon University in Ashland, Oregon and earned her Bachelors of Science degree in Biology. Always interested in the medical field, Samantha is fascinated by how the body responds to aging, specifically regarding dementia and Alzheimer’s.
Samantha and her husband Eric have five children and one grandson. They are actively involved in their church, love golfing together, and spending time outdoors in our beautiful valley.
